Hooke, WIlliam

William H. Hooke (B.S., Swarthmore College; S.M. and Ph.D., the University of Chicago) currently directs the Policy Program at the American Meteorological Society. Earlier, Dr. Hooke worked for the NOAA and antecedent agencies for 33 years. At NOAA, he conducted research and served in a series of management positions, including Deputy Chief Scientist and Acting Chief Scientist. He also served as Senior Scientist in the Office of the Secretary of Commerce. He currently chairs the National Research CouncilŐs Disasters Roundtable. He has been a member of the American Philosophical Society since 2006.
