Moss, Richard

Dr. Richard Moss is Vice President and Managing Director for Climate Change at the World Wildlife Fund (WWF). Moss has worked on the application of science in climate change decision making since joining the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) in 1993, first as head of the technical support unit for adaptation and mitigation assessments, and most recently as co-chair of the task group on scenarios. Most recently, he worked with a great international team on preparation of a new IPCC approach to scenario development and application that was discussed at the April 2008 IPCC Plenary ( www.ipcc.ch/meetings/session28/doc8.pdf). Moss also directed the US Climate Change Science Program Office from 2000-2006, where he pushed for development of decision support resources. At WWF, Moss is catalyzing a set of vulnerability and adaptation assessments for WWFÕs 35 iconic natural heritage sites and seeks to develop climate services relevant to this challenge.
