Dr. Stephens is currently a Distinguished Professor in the Dept. of Atmospheric Science at Colorado State University and assumes the position of Director of CIRA (Cooperative Institute for Research in the Atmosphere) on August 1, 2008. He is also currently the P.I. on NASA's CloudSat Mission, A Distinguished Visiting Scientist at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in California and a Visiting Sciene Team Member, fellow of the AMS, AGU and AAAS and recipient of the AMS Houghton and Charney awards, the NASA public service medal and the Gold Medal of the IAMAS International Radiation Commission.
