Originally from New Zealand, Dr. Kevin Trenberth is Head of the Climate Analysis Section at the National Center for Atmospheric Research. He was a coordinating lead author or lead author of the 1995, 2001 and 2007 IPCC Scientific Assessment of Climate Change. He served on the Joint Scientific Committee of the World Climate Research Programme (WCRP) 1999-2006 and chairs the WCRP Observation and Assimilation Panel. He is a fellow of the American Meteorological Society, the AAAS, and AGU, and an honorary fellow of the Royal Society of New Zealand. He has published over 400 scientific articles, including 40 books or book chapters, and over 185 refereed journal articles.
