ACCOMMODATIONS
A block of rooms is being held for our group for the nights of 3-4 February 2009 at the Hollywood Casino Bay St. Louis. The government room rate is $70.00 plus 9% tax per night ($76.30 total).

PLEASE NOTE: All reservations have been made already by Brian Jackson at UCAR-JOSS. Brian will contact Federal travelers this week with your hotel reservation confirmation information, and UCAR-supported travelers as we arrange your travel.

    Federal attendees are responsible for their own room and tax charges as well as all incidental expenses.
    UCAR-supported attendees - See TRAVEL below. Room and tax charges for UCAR-supported participants will be direct-billed to UCAR. UCAR-supported attendees are responsible for all incidental expenses.

Check-in: 3:00 p.m. Check-out: 11:00 a.m.

Cancellation Policy: Reservations must be canceled by 72 hours prior to the scheduled day of arrival to avoid a no-show charge. Please contact Brian to cancel or change your reservation. Should you need to have your reservation canceled, you will be provided with a cancellation number.

The CONUS M&IE rate for Bay St. Louis is $39.00.

WORKING LUNCHES
Please note that a working lunch will be provided on both days. It is assumed that all meeting participants will attend.

    Federal attendees - Please note that UCAR is not allowed to provide meals for federal employees. Therefore federal employees are requested to contribute $22.00 towards the cost of the lunch (the lunch portion of the M&IE for Bay St. Louis). See PAYMENT below.
    UCAR-supported attendees - $22.00 for the lunch will be deducted from the travel expense reimbursement claims of those attendees receiving travel support from UCAR.

GROUP DINNER
There will be a Group Dinner on Wednesday evening, 4 February (venue to be announced onsite). It is assumed that all meeting participants will attend. If you do not wish to attend the group dinner, please contact Brian Jackson before Friday, 30 January 2009.

    2. Under "Payment Select", click on "Other Items" and then from the drop-down menu, choose "DAARWG Meeting - Bay St. Louis - 4-5 Feb. 2009 - Reg Fee", and then click on the "Next" button.

    3. On the following screen, enter the amount above and fill in your billing information.
    When you are ready, click on the "Start Process" button.

    4. You will receive an e-mail confirming your payment.

    If you prefer to pay by check, please make your check payable to "UCAR" and send it to Brian Jackson, UCAR-JOSS, P.O. Box 3000, Boulder, CO 80307. I will mail receipts to those who request one, following the meeting.

PRESENTATIONS
An Apple OSX Titanium laptop and a Dell PC latptop will be used for all presentation projections.

TOUR OF NDBC (New! 1/28/09)
The NOAA National Data Buoy Center (NDBC) has just offered a tour of their facilities to DAARWG meeting attendees. The tour would begin at 2:00 p.m. after the DAARWG meeting on February 5. For those of you staying an extra night, please send an email to Bill Burnett if you would like to participate in the tour. NDBC is located on the main Stennis Space Center campus, roughly 30 minutes from the Bay St. Louis meeting site. The NDBC website is http://www.ndbc.noaa.gov/

TRAVEL

    Federal attendees are responsible for their own travel arrangements, but should provide Brian with the nights they need hotel reservations (see LODGING above).

    UCAR-supported attendees - Travel arrangements for non-federal attendees will be handled by Brian Jackson through UCAR. Travel support includes round-trip airfare, lodging, per diem, misc. ground transportation and airport parking.

    Please contact Brian as soon as possible regarding your travel plans, if you have not done so already. Please include the following information:

      * your name as it appears on your driver's license
      * your date of birth (new Homeland Security regulation, effective 2/09)
      * preferred dates and departure times
      * preferred departure airport
      * any frequent flyer program account numbers
      * your seating preference

TRAVEL TO BAY ST. LOUIS
Hotel staff recommend flying into Gulfport, Miss., rather than into New Orleans, when traveling to Bay St. Louis, Miss., especially if traveling at night.

Daily connecting Flights are available from National and BWI, as well as Dulles. There are no direct flights from the D.C. area.

The two main hubs into Gulfport are Charlotte, N.C. (United/US Airways) and Atlanta (Delta). There are a few flights per day via Raleigh (Delta).

TRANSPORTATION TO HOLLYWOOD CASINO FROM GULFPORT AIRPORT
The drive from Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport to Bay St. Louis takes approximately 30-40 minutes.
