Please be sure to mention the Special Group Code "JOSS" (NEW - 12/7/05) to ensure that you receive the Workshop Government Rate of
$93.00 + 11% tax/night ($103.23), which is $9.00 above the FY06 federal per diem rate. This rate is applicable for three nights before and after
the official meeting dates, subject to rate and space availability. Federal participants must present their official
government ID upon check-in in order to receive this rate. A credit card is required to guarantee your reservation.
UCAR-supported participants should contact Brian Jackson, who will handle their hotel
reservations and travel arrangements.
Check-in time is 4:00 p.m. Check-out time is 11:00 a.m.
An early departure of $75.00 will apply to reservations that are changed after check-in.
Late check-out requests will be reviewed based on hotel demand. A late check-out fee of $75.00 per room may apply.
A late check-out after 4:00 p.m. is subject to a charge equal to the published (non-discounted) rate for that night.
If you wish to cancel your reservation, please do so one day prior to the day of your arrival to avoid cancellation penalties.
The cost to park at the Hilton currently is $10.00 per day for registered guests and attendees.
- Meeting Venue
The opening plenary session will be held in the St. Petersburg Ballroom I
- Poster Session (UPDATED - 1/14/06)
There will be space for you to display 4'X4' posters. This is optional. If you plan to bring a poster,
please contact Brian Jackson. The poster boards will be set up in the lobby just outside the St. Petersburg
Ballroom I. The poster boards are made of black Velcro compatible fabric. Pushpins may also be used and will be provided onsite.
- Working Lunch (NEW - 1/14/06)
A Working lunch will provided on Monday. Federal employees are requested to contribute $11.00 onsite for their meal. This is
the Lunch portion of the GSA per diem for St. Petersburg. Please make your check payable to "UCAR". Cash also will be accepted...exact change please!
Printed receipts will be provided by mail upon request following the meeting.
- Group Dinner (NEW - 1/14/06)
A Group Dinner will be held Tuesday evening, 24 January, at the St. Petersburg Yacht Club at 6:00 p.m. Federal employees are requested to contribute $28.00
onsite for the dinner. This is the Dinner portion of the GSA per diem for St. Petersburg. Please make your check payable to "UCAR".
Cash also will be accepted...exact change please! Printed receipts will be provided by mail upon request following the meeting.
Transportation will be available to and from the Yacht Club.
- Reception (UPDATED - 1/14/06)
The Alliance for Coastal Technologies (ACT) will host an icebreaker reception
Monday evening, 23 January 2006, at the Pier Aquarium in St. Petersburg.
Transportation will be provided to and from the Pier for those who prefer not to walk, or in case of inclement weather.

Taxis from Tampa International to the hotel average approximately $40.00. Taxis from Clearwater International to the hotel
average approximately $30.00.
Super Shuttle is available from either airport. The Hilton St. Petersburg Bayfront is the first stop after Tampa Airport.
