The hosted social and poster session (5:30-7:30, Monday 17 September) will immediately follow Day 1 of the Symposium. Contributed posters are solicited on topics related to the theme of the Symposium: Six decades of fishery genetics--A retrospective view and a vision for the future. Potential topics include, but are not restricted to, stock and species identification, mixed-stock fishery analysis, forensics, ecological genetics, hatchery-wild interactions, aquaculture, environmental effects, health and physiology, microbial pathogens, and future applications of molecular tools and approaches to fisheries and ecosystem assessment. Although the meeting is oriented toward application of genetic principles to real-world problems in fishery management, posters reporting basic research that has potential management applications could also be appropriate.
If you are interested in presenting a poster at the Symposium, submit an abstract (<200 words) by August 31 to Kevin Williamson (Kevin.Williamson@noaa.gov). Please contact Kevin if you have any questions. |
