The workshop will start on Monday April 7th at 8:30 AM and is expected to end on Wednesday, April 9th around 12:30 PM. More details regarding the agenda will be provided soon.

LODGING

A block of 35 sleeping rooms has been arranged at the Four Points by Sheraton for a negotiated rate of  $85.00 per night and $79.00 per night with a government ID.  This rate is only guaranteed until March 7th 2008. For reservations call 828-253-1851 and ask for the “LST Workshop” block.

GROUP DINNER

An optional group dinner has been arranged for participants on Monday from 7pm to 9pm.  Please note that this event requires pre-registration. There will be an additional charge ($35) on your registration if you sign up for this dinner.  

TRAVEL TO ASHEVILLE

The Asheville (AVL) regional airport has direct flights into Atlanta, Charlotte, Washington/Dulles, Detroit, Minneapolis, Cincinnati, Houston, Newark, and NYC/LaGuardia.  There may be others.  The two main hubs serviced are Charlotte (USAirways) and Atlanta (Delta).

The Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport (GSP) (~75 minutes south) serves more airports directly, including BWI and Reagan National. 

The Charlotte-Douglas International Airport (CLT) is about 125 miles away.

ACCESS TO NCDC

Non-NOAA employees will need a Visitor badge to enter NCDC.  Closer to the meeting date, we will develop a Participant List, and ensure badges are available for all upon it. 

WIRELESS AT NCDC

High-speed wireless Internet connectivity is available at NCDC. Access instructions will be provided onsite.
