Parks and Open Space
Nearly 30% of Stapleton is reserved for parks and open space. Parks and open space define many of Denver's great neighborhoods. Washington Park, Cheesman Park, Congress Park, City Park and many others are grand public spaces that are part of Denver's legacy. Stapleton will build on that tradition devoting nearly 30% of its 4,700 acres to parks and open space, increasing the size of the Denver Park system by more than 25%.
The centerpiece of Stapleton's 1,116-acre regional park system is the 80-acre "Central Park", the third largest park in the city. Bikeways and paths, similar to those found along Denver's Cherry Creek grace Stapleton's Sand Creek and Westerly Creek Greenways. On Stapleton's northern border, the community's extensive bike and trail system will link into the 17,000-acre Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge.
For specific information on all of Stapleton's parks, see the menu to the right.

East 29th Avenue Town Center
Located next to the 2.5-acre Founders’ Green, on Stapleton’s first Main Street, the East 29th Avenue Town Center has a decidedly “neighborhood” feel. It’s a mixed-use community hub, where rental flats and office suites sit above retail shops and restaurants. This cozy shopping district serves both the everyday needs and impulsive whims of its customers.
The Stapleton Farmers Market comes to the Town Center every Sunday between the months of May through October, offering locally grown fresh fruits and vegetables, culinary herbs, baked goods, and other gourmet food items.
Quebec Square Regional Retail Center
Built on 740,000 square feet of land, Quebec Square is one of the largest retail centers in Denver. This vast shopping center is home to many of the nation’s largest retailers, such as Home Depot, Wall- Mart, Sam’s Club and more -- as well as smaller regional shops.
Easily accessible, at the corner of Quebec Street and 36th Avenue, Quebec Square provides convenient one-stop shopping for Stapleton residents and members of the surrounding communities. |
