ConclusionsIt is hoped that our summary will help the MAP scientists find their way through the multitude of missions and observations accomplished during the long SOP. While the final scientific results will not be known for some time, the wealth of data almost guarantees a quantum jump in our knowledge and prediction ability regarding the complex effects of orography on the mesoscale weather.
However, independently of the scientific outlook, MAP was conducted in such harmonic and enthusiastic cooperation that it has left most of the participants with the memory of a most enjoyable and fascinating field project.
